All AZ Infrared inspections are qualitative¹ in nature. All inspections come with detailed written reports and images (both photographic and infrared).

¹There are two types of infrared inspections. They are qualitative and quantitative. Qualitative analysis focuses on understanding, rather than predicting or controlling, phenomena. When an infrared thermogram is analyzed qualitative results are analyzed for apparent temperature variations to ascertain if a thermal anomaly is present, where its general location is and what pattern or patterns may be present. Quantitative analysis is performed to determine actual temperature measurements where compensation for reflection, transmission, distance and other variables are performed.

What qualifications do AZ Infrared Consultants have?

There are four levels of certified thermographers. Levels 1, 2, 3 and Building Science Certified (BSC) are the current classifications. The principal consultant for AZ Infrared is a building science certified thermographer. In addition, the principal is a certified home inspector in the State of Arizona and teaches home inspection curriculum in a post secondary education environment.
